Stevie Nicks plots initial tour dates behind new album

The first handful of dates have surfaced for Stevie Nicks ’ summer U.S. tour in support of her just-released album, “Trouble in Shangri-La.” The outing will begin in early July.

A July 7 stop in Michigan is the first confirmed date on the tour, but the actual kick-off is expected to take place on July 6 in Pittsburgh, according to Nicks’ official website. A full U.S. itinerary will be announced soon, according to a spokesperson.

Ticket on-sale dates for two of the newly announced concerts have been set. Details appear in the itinerary below.

Nicks is currently on a promotional tour of media outlets, and is scheduled to participate in an online chat at MSN.com on Tuesday (5/15) at 7 p.m. Eastern Time.

“Trouble in Shangri-La” (Reprise) was released on May 1 and debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The album also debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Internet Albums chart, which measures online album sales.

Nicks’ new album features guest appearances from Dixie Chicks' Natalie Maines (on “Too Far from Texas''), Macy Gray (“Bombay Sapphires''), Sarah McLachlan (“Love Is'') and Sheryl Crow (“Sorcerer”).

“Every Day,” the latest single from “Shangri-La,” is currently at No. 21 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary singles chart.
