Indigo Girls go acoustic this summer
The generally hard-touring Indigo Girls will spend less than a month on the road together in 2001, playing a series of shows in North America from mid-July through early August.
Amy Ray and Emily Sailers will tour as an acoustic duo, focusing on theaters and small amphitheaters in the western U.S. According to the official Indigo Girls website, the duo will not tour together for the balance of the year.
Ray recently wrapped up a month-long tour behind her solo debut album, "Stag" (Daemon), which was released in May. Indigo Girls' last major outing together was on last fall's Honor the Earth 2000 benefit tour.
The duo released "Retrospective" (Epic) last October, a compilation featuring 14 previously released tracks and two new songs.
