Lyle Lovett & His Large Band to mount summer tour
Lyle Lovett & His Large Band are gearing up for two months of road work that will begin in early July. The tour marks Lovett’s first full-scale outing since wrapping up a similar July-through-September jaunt last year.
Lovett’s most recent release is last October’s soundtrack to the Robert Altman-directed film “Dr. T & the Women.” Primarily a 13-track instrumental score composed and produced by Lovett, it also features previously released versions of Lovett’s "You've Been So Good Up to Now" and "She's Already Made Up Her Mind”--from his 1992 album “Joshua Judges Ruth”--and a remake of “Ain’t It Something” from 1994's “I Love Everybody.”
1989's "Lyle Lovett & His Large Band" earned Lovett a Grammy in the Best Country Vocal Performance, Male, category. His 1996 release, "The Road to Ensenada," picked up the Best Country Album Grammy for 1996.
Lovett will enter the studio this fall to begin work on his next album, according to his management.
