Staind gears up for three-month trek

Staind has packed its spring and summer with headlining and radio-festival dates that begin on Tuesday night (5/8) in Toronto and stretch into early August. The group is touring in support of its forthcoming album, “Break the Cycle.”

Puddle of Mudd, one of the first acts signed to Flawless Records--Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst’s new Geffen imprint--will open for Staind, according to a tour publicist

Fellow rock act Cold is also scheduled to link up with Staind at a May 25 radio festival in Minneapolis, and will stay on board as a show-opener during Staind’s subsequent headlining dates, according to Cold’s Flip/Interscope publicist. Meanwhile, Cold has an opening run with Monster Magnet and a number of radio-festival dates scheduled before joining Staind, according to the group’s official website.

Staind’s “Break the Cycle” is due out on May 22, and features the current radio hit “It’s Been a While.” The song has spent the past three weeks in the No. 1 spots on Billboard’s Alternative, Mainstream and Active Rock singles charts, according to a band press release.

Streaming-audio samples of a number of tracks from “Break the Cycle” can be found at Staind’s official website. “Break the Cycle” is the follow-up to Staind’s platinum-certified 1999 release, “Dysfunction.”
