Weezer not participating in Warped Tour

Contrary to previous announcements, Weezer will not be appearing on this years Vans Warped Tour roster. The alt-rock group is expected to line up alternate touring plans, however.
The band apologizes for psyching anyone up inadvertantly [sic], reads a message posted to the groups official website. The groups Interscope publicist also confirmed that the group declined an offer to appear on the Warped tour.
Weezer plans to tour North America this summer, either on a headlining outing of its own or as part of another package tour, according to its website. The group is set to open a Japanese tour on April 15.
A new Weezer album--the group's second self-titled release and third disc overall--is due out on May 15. The first single, Hash Pipe, will hit radio stations this month.
The rest of the previously announced Warped Tour acts--including 311, Rancid, Pennywise and Rollins Band--are still scheduled to appear on the tour, according to the outings official website.
Venues have been confirmed for 18 of the tours 43 planned stops, and tickets to all 18 of those confirmed shows are on sale now. Details on purchasing tickets can be found at the tours website.
