Moby's Area: One package to feature OutKast, New Order

OutKast and New Order are among the diverse acts slated to be a part of Moby ’s travelling all-day music festival, Area: One, which runs from July 11 to Aug. 5.

The tour will hit amphitheaters and "non-traditional outdoor music venues" in 16 North American cities, according to the Grammy nominee’s spokesperson. Moby plans to reveal more details--including performers, dates and venues--at a press conference on April 23 in New York. OutKast is scheduled to perform during the East Coast dates, while New Order will appear on the West Coast. Other confirmed acts include Paul Oakenfold, Carl Cox and the Roots.

"My reason for putting together Area: One is that there is a lot of music in the world that I love that does not always get the appropriate exposure," Moby said in a press release.

A portion of the proceeds from Area: One will be earmarked for local charities, which will be announced at a later date.

Moby’s break-through album "Play," which has sold two million copies, sits at No. 53 on the Billboard 200 after 86 weeks on the chart.
