Eagles reveal European tour plans

Confirming rumors that have been circulating for weeks, the Eagles have announced a major European tour. The seven-week outing opens on May 29 in Moscow, a show that will mark the band's first appearance in Russia.

The tour--which includes stops in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, France, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland and Italy--will not feature an opening act. The Eagles last toured Europe in 1996.

The band will sport a line-up of Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, and additional musicians. Don Felder, who joined the Eagles as a guitarist in 1974, has been ousted from the band. According to their publicist, the Eagles' concerts will focus on material from its "Selected Works: 1972-1999" box set, which was released by Elektra last November.

The Eagles were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. Their 1976 release "Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975" (Elektra) has sold more than 27 million copies, and is the top-selling album of all time in the U.S.
