Veteran rock group Aerosmith returns this week with “Just Push Play” (Columbia), the Boston-based act’s first album in four years. The disc features the new single, “Jaded,” which is currently at No. 1 on Radio & Records’ national rock airplay chart.

While the album hits stores this week, a “Jaded” CD-single is set for release on March 13. In addition to three different versions of the song, the CD will include a non-album version of the “Just Push Play” track “Under My Skin” and the group’s song “Angel’s Eye,” which first appeared on last year’s “Charlie’s Angels” soundtrack (Columbia).

On Monday (3/5), America Online users can get a preview of “Just Push Play” by logging on and heading to keyword “Aerosmith.” AOL will broadcast the album in its entirety, along with bonus tracks, at 7 p.m. Eastern Time, according to an announcement on Aerosmith’s official website.

Aerosmith was scheduled to mark the release of its new album with a special appearance at the Virgin Megastore in New York City’s Times Square on Tuesday night (3/6), but that plan has been scrapped due to the major snowstorm that is passing through the Northeast, according to a Columbia Records spokesperson.

Aerosmith’s last album was 1997’s “Nine Lives.” The disc debuted at No. 1, and has been certified double-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Last month, the group’s 1980 release “Aerosmith’s Greatest Hits” was diamond-certified by the RIAA, signifying the shipment of 10 million copies since its release. The group is now credited with total U.S. sales of 59.5 million albums.

Aerosmith, whose self-titled debut was released in 1973, will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 19.

Eve--a.k.a. Eve of Destruction, a.k.a. Jihan Jeffers--is back with her sophomore effort, “Scorpion” (Ruff Ryders/Interscope). Ruff Ryders’ premiere female member’s new disc is the follow-up to her 1999 debut, “First Lady of the Ruff Ryders.”

“Who’s That Girl?,” the first single from “Scorpion,” peaked at No. 5 on Billboard’s Hot Rap Singles chart last week, and is at No. 11 this week. The second single, “Let Me Blow Ya Mind,” has just been released to radio. The track features No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani, and was produced by Dr. Dre, according to Ruff Ryders Records.

To mark the release of “Scorpion,” Eve is scheduled to participate in an online chat at 360hiphop.com on Monday night (3/5) at 9 p.m. Eastern Time. She is also slated to appear on the BET channel’s “160 & Park” music video program on Tuesday (3/6).
