EyeHateGod plots March road trip
New Orleans metal act EyeHateGod will set out on a U.S. club tour on March 15 in support of last year’s “Confederacy of Ruined Lives” (Century Media). The outing will feature Keelhaul in the opening slot, and additional support from Isis on select dates.
Released last September, “Confederacy of Ruined Lives” is EyeHateGod’s first album since 1996’s “Dopesick.” The group is also working on a live album--with the working title of “10 Years of Abuse and Still Broke"--that will also contain previously unreleased material. A release date will be announced soon, according to Century Media.
EyeHateGod guitarist Jimmy Bower talked about the upcoming live album in a recent press release: "[We culled some material from] this old demo from 1990 of us jamming [songs for our 1993 album] “In the Name of Suffering” … There are six songs from that, then there is six songs from “The Hour of the Goat” radio show that we did. And finally there's 30 to 45 minutes of live s--- from Germany."
Bower has spent the past several months touring as an auxiliary member of rock act COC; the latter group’s drummer, Reed Mullin, has been sidelined with a back injury. Though Bower plays guitar in his own group, he plays drums as well, and filled in for Mullin on COC’s recent tour. That outing wraps up on Sunday (3/4).
An EyeHateGod spokesperson said that additional tour dates for the group are not expected, as its members will likely spend much of the year working on individual side projects.
