Ani DiFranco plans tour as album release approaches
A new double-album is due from the fiercely independent singer-songwriter Ani DiFranco on April 10, and the first leg of a supporting tour has been booked, according to tour sources.
DiFranco opens a month-long stint of theater dates in late March, and is expected to move to outdoor amphitheaters this summer.
The new album, titled "Revelling/Reckoning," will feature 29 new tracks, many of which have been a part of her recent live sets, according to a press kit. Half of the songs on each disc will feature DiFranco solo, while on the other half, she is backed by her band.
DiFranco self-produced the album, and will release it on her independent label Righteous Babe Records.
