Semisonic prepares to storm the concert circuit
Shortly after the March 13 release of its new album, "All About Chemistry" (MCA), Minneapolis trio Semisonic will launch a month-long club and theater tour. The gigs begin on April 2 in Toronto, Ontario, and wrap up on May 1 in Los Angeles.
Semisonic, which wrapped up a U.K. tour with Texas on Tuesday (2/20), is scheduled to perform its bouncy new single "Chemistry" on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on March 12 and on "The Late Show with David Letterman" on April 9.
In a recent interview, singer Dan Wilson said that Semisonic plans to hit summer festivals and to headline another jaunt in the fall.
"All About Chemistry" shows a different side to the Minneapolis trio, lyrically and musically. The band has made a name for itself by offering sprightly pop gems like "Closing Time" and "Singing in My Sleep." The new record is a bit darker.
