“Hotshot” (MCA), the latest album from R&B-reggae artist Shaggy [ tickets ], fends off all others to maintain its No. 1 position for the second week in a row this week. Several releases return to the Top 10 after falling out, and the 1999 debut from Crazy Town makes its first Top 10 appearance.

Shaggy’s “Hotshot” is riding high on the success of the hit singles “It Wasn’t Me” and “Angel.” The latter track is currently at No. 2 on Radio & Records’ pop chart, which measures national radio airplay.

The Beatles [ tickets ]’ “1,” which dipped to No. 4 last week, rises to No. 2 this week. The album spent a total of 8 weeks at No. 1 following its release last November.

The “Save the Last Dance” soundtrack (Hollywood), Ja Rule’s “Rule 3:36” and Dido’s “No Angel” (Arista) all stay put this week at Nos. 3, 5, and 6, respectively, while Jennifer Lopez’s “J. Lo” (Epic) drops to No. 4 from its No. 2 position of last week. The latter album debuted at No. 1 two weeks back, but was knocked from its perch by “Hotshot” last week.

Returning to the Top 10 this week are both Lenny Kravitz [ tickets ]’s “Greatest Hits” (Virgin) and Sade [ tickets ]’s “Lovers Rock” (Epic). Kravitz’s “Greatest Hits” jumps to No. 7 from No. 11 last week, spurred on by the success of the album’s sole new track, “Again”; that song clocks in at No. 1 on Radio & Records’ latest pop chart.

Sade’s “Lovers Rock”--the singer’s first album of new material in eight years--makes the leap from No. 13 last week to No. 8.

Ludacris’ “Back for the First Time” (Def Jam), which broke into the Top 10 for the first time last week at No. 8, dips a spot to No. 9 this week. The Atlanta-based rapper continues to see success with the single “Southern Hospitality,” which is up to No. 9 on the latest Radio & Records urban chart. The track was at No. 14 last week and No. 26 two weeks back.

Capping off the Top 10 this week is Crazy Town’s “The Gift of the Game” (Columbia), which surges from No. 16 last week to No. 10. The album, which was released in 1999, is getting a lift from the radio hit “Butterfly,” a track that sits at No. 1 on Billboard’s latest Modern Rock Tracks chart.

Last week’s new release from pop-rock veteran Rod Stewart, “Human” (Atlantic), debuts well outside the Top 10 at No. 50, as does Donny Osmond's "This Is the Moment" (Decca) at No. 64.
