After selling out a series of club dates in 2000, the Young Dubliners will return to the road in February for a string of more than 30 shows that will touch most of the U.S.

The Los Angeles-based Celtic rock group--which features a mix of Irish and American natives--is touring in support of its latest album, "Red" (Omtown/Higher Octave).

Vocalist Keith Roberts--who is joined in the band by Jeff Dellisanti (saxophone, tin whistle and Hammond B3 organ), Bob Boulding (electric guitar), Bren Holmes (bass), David Ingraham (drums) and Mark Epting (violin, mandolin and harp--explained in a press release that the key to the Young Dubliners' show is "the jig pit."

"The jig pit is really what happened when half of our audience wanted to dance about and half the crowd wanted to mosh. Now both sides sort of collaborate and jump up and down while jigging about."

While on tour with Jethro Tull [ tickets ], the band's lead singer Ian Anderson, his wife and the rest of the group's entourage started the pit by dancing across the stage, according to the press release.

"We are ready to spread the gospel of the Jig Pit, have bus, will rock. That's us," Roberts said.
