All-female punk quartet the Donnas will hit the road with their labelmates in the all-female punk trio Bratmobile in mid-February. Both bands will warm up with a Jan. 27 CD-release party for the latest Donnas album, “ The Donnas [ tickets ] Turn 21” (Lookout!).

The Donnas--who take their inspiration from the Ramones--formed while the group’s members were still in high school. They embarked on their first tour in early 1998 as an opening act for the Groovy Ghoulies. The band is cracking the playlists of some alt-rock radio stations with its new single, “40 Boys in 40 Nights.”

The forthcoming album from the young Palo Alto, Calif., band--singer Donna A. (Brett Anderson), drummer Donna C. (Torry Castellano), bassist Donna F. (Maya Ford) and guitarist Donna R. (Allison Robertson)--will also feature its take on Judas Priest’s “Livin’ After Midnight.”

Bratmobile, who were influential in the Riot Grrrl punk movement of the early ‘90s, formed in 1991, but disbanded three years later. The band reformed in 1998, and released a new album titled “Ladies, Women and Girls” (Lookout!) last October.
