U.K. Charts: Bob the Builder knocked from No. 1 singles spot

LONDON--The Beatles compilation album "1," which has sold more than 2.1 million copies to date in Britain, remains on top of the Official U.K. Album Chart for the eighth straight week, while "Can We Fix It" by children's character Bob the Builder has fallen from its No. 1 position on the singles chart.

Following the Beatles on the latest album chart--which was released on Sunday (1/8)--is Coldplay 's "Parachutes," which rises to No. 2 from No. 8, and Eminem 's "The Marshall Mathers LP," which falls one place to No. 3. Robbie Williams ' "Sing When You’re Winning" and Madonna's "Music" round out the Top 5. Toploader's "Onka's Big Moka" pushes its way up to No. 10 from No. 15.

Due to the traditionally slow period for new album releases during the Christmas season, the only new entry this week is Papa Roach's "Infest" at No. 56. JJ72's eponymous debut album re-enters the chart at No. 61, followed by the re-entry of Radiohead's "Kid A" at No. 62.

Bob the Builder was usurped from the top of the Official U.K. Singles Chart; "Can We Fix It," which was the best-selling single for 2000, falls from No. 1 to No. 4. The new No. 1 position goes to Rui de Silva's "Touch Me," with Steps' "It's the Way You Make Me Feel/Too Busy Thinking ..." at No. 2 and Maria Rubia's "Everytime You Need Me" at No. 3.

Eminem's "Stan" falls from No. 2 to No. 5, S Club 7's "Never Had a Dream Come True" falls from No. 3 to No. 6 and Baha Men’s "Who Let the Dogs Out" falls from No. 4 to No. 7.

Other notable new entries include Red Hot Chili Peppers at No. 30, Lene Marlin at No. 31 and A Perfect Circle at No. 49.
