Weekend Ticketing: Lynyrd Skynyrd, Everlast, Spyro Gyra, They Might Be Giants

As the holiday season winds down, it remains a slow period for concert announcements and, in turn, for new ticket on-sales. This weeks list of on-sales is especially short, but at least a few major ticketing announcements--including some U2 and Jimmy Buffett dates--are expected to surface in January.

Southern rock mainstays Lynyrd Skynyrd are expected to tour Australia and Japan in 2001, but their first confirmed dates for the year are in Florida. Tickets for a Jan. 25 appearance in Orlando, a Jan. 27 show in Tampa and a Jan. 26 show in Sunrise are scheduled to go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday (12/29).

Tickets for stops on Everlast s winter tour continue to hit the market. On-sales for shows in Cincinnati and Indianapolis will begin at 10 a.m. Eastern Time on Saturday (12/30). Tickets for many other shows are already on sale.

The pop-jazz outfit Spyro Gyra will open a six-night stint at Dimitrious Jazz Alley in Seattle on Dec. 29. The group will be playing two shows a night, and tickets for all will go on sale at 10 a.m. Pacific Time on Saturday (12/29).

They Might Be Giants will open a short series of California and New York appearances in late January. Tickets for the mini-tours Jan. 31 stop in San Francisco will go on sale at 10 a.m. Pacific Time on Sunday (12/21). On-sales are already underway for shows in New York City, West Hollywood and Anaheim, Calif.
