Andrea Bocelli maps North American dates
Andrea Bocelli will return to North America next year for a series of concerts that are scheduled to kick off on Mar. 22 in Florida, according to event organizers. Tickets for seven of the Italian tenor’s eight confirmed shows are on sale now, while tickets for the tour’s Las Vegas stop go on sale on Saturday (12/16).
After getting underway in Ft. Lauderdale, Bocelli is scheduled to make subsequent late-March stops in Las Vegas; Philadelphia; Columbus, Ohio; and Rutherford, N.J. Three April concerts are then set for Boston; Hartford, Conn.; and Toronto.
Tickets for the Mar. 24 Las Vegas performance will go on sale on Saturday (12/16) at the Mandalay Bay Event Center box office and all Ticketmaster outlets, according to a venue spokesperson. (LiveDaily is a publication of Ticketmaster Online - Citysearch.)
Bocelli last toured the U.S. in late-March and early-April. That seven-show outing was completely sold-out and grossed $10.5 million, with 79,891 tickets sold, according to industry trade-publication Pollstar.
Commonly referred to as “The Fourth Tenor”--placing him in the company of Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, and Jose Carreras--Bocelli’s recent releases include his rendition of Giacomo Puccini’s “La Boheme” (Universal) and a collection of operatic composer Giuseppe Verdi’s works on “Verdi” (Universal). His 1999 release, “Sacred Arias,” was certified double-platinum in July by the Recording Industry Association of America for selling over 2 million copies in the U.S.
