A Perfect Circle lines up winter headlining tour
A Perfect Circle has announced plans to embark on a North American headlining tour in January, according to Virgin Records. The outing is set to get underway on Jan. 31 and currently comprises 41 dates.
Following the Jan. 31 kick off in Portland, APC is slated to stop in Vancouver, British Columbia, before canvassing the U.S. throughout the months of February and March. A March 31 stop in Minneapolis is the last date on the band’s current itinerary.
The group is expected to perform new songs during the tour, in addition to tracks from “Mer De Noms” (Virgin), its May debut, according to Virgin.
APC wrapped up a month-long, headlining U.S. club tour in mid-September. Prior to that jaunt, the group toured Canada as part of the Summersault 2000 festival tour, headlined Japan and Australia and served as the opening act for Nine Inch Nails’ Fragility v2.0 U.S. tour.
“3 Libras,” the second single from “Mer De Noms,” is No. 13 on industry trade publication Radio & Records’ latest Active Rock chart, which measures radio airplay. The video for “Judith,” the first single from “Mer De Noms,” recently won the Billboard Music Video Award in the Best New Artist Clip of the Year - Hard Rock category, according to Virgin.
“Mer De Noms” was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America in October for selling over one million copies since its release.
A Perfect Circle frontman Maynard James Keenan is also the frontman for hard-rock outfit Tool , which is set to release a limited-edition box set on Tuesday (12/12) titled “Salival.” It will include a DVD or VHS containing all four of Tool’s music videos, a CD containing both unreleased live material and studio tracks, and a 56-page color book of performance shots and video stills, according to Tool’s official website.
Tool is currently in the studio working on a new album that is slated for an April 17 release, according to the band’s website.
