Release dates targeted for 47 Pearl Jam 'bootlegs'

Pearl Jam will release an authorized "bootleg" from each of the 47 shows on its 2000 North American tour, beginning in January. This series follows the bootlegs of European shows released earlier this year.

The first 23 2-CD sets will be available from the band’s Ten Club website beginning on Jan. 30, and will be in stores on Feb. 27. The remaining albums will be available from Ten Club on Feb. 27, and will reach stores on March 27.

Pearl Jam announced plans to issue the North American bootlegs shortly after the group released 25 bootlegs of its European tour, five of which debuted on the Billboard 200 in October, setting a record for the most simultaneous debuts on the album chart, according to Billboard.

Like the European bootlegs, the North American releases were culled from soundboard recordings by Pearl Jam engineer Brett Eliason, who mixed the CDs for release with his assistant John Burton.

Pearl Jam wrapped up its North American tour with a pair of Seattle performances in November.
