Briefly: Pantera, The Who, Rosas case, that OZZfest broadcast
Pantera has added three new stops to its recently rescheduled tour, according to the band’s official website. The additions comprise performances on Feb. 16 in Kansas City, March 9 in New York City and April 1 in Miami. The March 9 show at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom was added after the group’s March 8 show at the same venue sold out.
The Who headlined a charity show at London's Royal Albert Hall on Monday (11/27) to benefit Teenage Cancer Trust. According to NME.com, the band was joined by Eddie Vedder, Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller and Bryan Adams, among others.
NME surveyed musicians to find out who they felt was the most influential artist in music. David Bowie was No. 1, followed by Radiohead, then the Beatles.
Gabriel Gomez, who recently was convicted of murdering Sandra Rosas even though her body had not been found, led police to his victim’s buried remains last week, according to the Los Angeles Times. Rosas, who disappeared from her Los Angeles-area home in October 1999, was the wife of Los Lobos member Cesar Rosas.
Digital entertainment company MCY.com won a legal victory Tuesday when a U.S. District Court denied a request by a number of OZZfest 2000 acts for a restraining order that would have barred MCY and its licensees--DirecTV and iN DEMAND--from continuing to broadcast an OZZfest 2000 pay-per-view special, according to a press release from MCY. Ozzy Osbourne , his Osbourne Management company and a number of other OZZfest 2000 acts filed a suit against MCY earlier this month, in which they claim that the company does not have permission to use the footage being aired as a pay-per-view special.
