PJ Harvey sets whirlwind tour of North America

Raw British rock purveyors PJ Harvey have set a brief tour of North America to support their new release, "Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea." The tour opens in Toronto on Dec. 1.

Earlier this month, PJ Harvey frontwoman and namesake Polly Jean Harvey told BBC Radio One that her band will support a portion of U2’s upcoming world tour, which is expected to launch in March.

PJ Harvey is scheduled to appear in January on Big Day Out, a Lollapalooza-like music festival that tours Australia and New Zealand. In February, Harvey’s first London appearances in more than two years are scheduled to take place.

"Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea" entered the Billboard 200 album chart at No. 42 earlier this month, a higher debut than any previous PJ Harvey release. It entered the Billboard’s U.K. album chart at No. 23.
