Green Day fortifies 2001 U.S. tour schedule
Green Day has revealed 13 new dates for its upcoming U.S. tour, according to the group’s official website. Currently on tour in Europe, the Bay Area punk rockers have now lined up 15 stateside dates.
Following the Jan. 11 opener in Dallas, the group has two subsequent Texas stops planned before heading to the South for performances in Louisiana, Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia and South Carolina. The band will then swing to the Midwest for dates in Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin and Missouri. A Jan. 27 stop in Oklahoma is the final U.S. date on the band’s current itinerary, according to its official website.
Tickets for a number of shows are on sale now, while tickets for the tour's Jan. 13 stop in Austin, Texas, and Jan. 23 stop in Dayton, Ohio, go on sale on Dec. 2, according to promoters. Tickets for the Jan. 17 stop in Charlotte, NC, meanwhile, go on sale on Dec. 16.
“Warning” (Warner Bros.), Green Day’s latest album, was released on Oct. 3. The group began touring in June as part of the annual Vans Warped tour. A headlining run through Japan and Australia followed.
The group’s current European tour began on Monday night (11/27) in Portugal, and is scheduled to run until a Dec. 11 stop in Ireland.
