New Year's Eve Outlook: U.K. 2000 set to party like 1999

LONDON--Britain is gearing up for major New Year’s Eve celebrations, sending off 2000 with as wide an array of artists arranged as were seen in 1999. Top acts headlining at various venues around the U.K include Primal Scream , Moby , Leftfield and Ian Brown.

However, the bulk of music happenings for Dec. 31 are top DJs taking over the decks in prime British clubs. Highlights include the Chemical Brothers performing DJ sets at the two different London club nights Together and Home, Judge Jules in charge at Gatecrasher in Sheffield and Dave Clark and Fabio & Grooverider at Atomic Jam in Birmingham.

On a larger scale, renowned club organizers Ministry of Sound will be taking over the satellite buildings around London’s Millennium Dome to present Odyssey 2001 with dance DJ Paul Oakenfold and famed garage figure the Artful Dodger heading up the line-up.

Meanwhile, Leftfield and Orbital will perform at the London Arena, and Primal Scream, Asian Dub Foundation and Ian Brown head up the Resolution 2001 celebration at London’s Alexandra Palace.

Outside of the Big Smoke, Moby has been confirmed to headline Edinburgh’s Hogmanay, the Scottish capital’s famous outdoor New Year’s Eve Street Party.
