Wallflowers extend tour into mid-December
update: The Wallflowers have added 16 more dates to their current U.S. tour, according to various sources. The run now extends until Dec. 16 and features both Everlast and the John Doe Thing in the opening slot.
Added to the band's itinerary are six new November dates that begin on Nov. 24 in Minnesota and will see the tour touch down in Wisconsin, Missouri and Iowa before month's end.
The band loops back to Minnesota and Wisconsin on Dec. 1 and Dec. 2, respectively, before heading to the Northeast for stops on Dec. 6 in New York, Dec. 7 in New Jersey and Dec. 8 in Philadelphia. The latter date is the last one listed on the band's current itinerary, according to the group's official website.
In addition to the new dates posted on the band's site, five additional stops are planned between Dec. 10 and Dec. 16 in upstate New York, Ohio and Michigan, according to a press release from Spin Art Records. On Nov. 28, Spin Art artist the John Doe Thing is scheduled to take over the opening slot currently occupied by Everlast.
The Wallflowers began touring in early October in support of their latest album, "Breach" (Interscope). The disc hit stores last month and features the single "Sleepwalker," which is currently No. 2 on the latest Radio & Records' adult alternative chart, which measures national radio airplay. "Breach" debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 album chart, and has since dropped to its current position at No. 54.
Everlast, who is touring in support of his recently released "Eat At Whitey's" (Tommy Boy), began opening for the Wallflowers earlier this month after spending October as the opening act for Santana.
The John Doe Thing released its latest, "Freedom Is … " (Spin Art), in July.
