Creed sets final dates for 2000 tour
Creed has added three more December dates to its ongoing tour in support of “Human Clay” (Wind Up), including a performance in Orlando that will be the Florida-based group’s last concert of the year, according to a band spokesperson. The group then plans to begin work on a new album early next year.
Stops on Dec. 11 in Atlanta, Dec. 12 in Louisville and Dec. 14 in Orlando have been added to an itinerary that previously ran through Dec. 9. Tickets for all three shows are on sale now, and, as with the band’s last batch of tour dates, include a $1 donation to frontman Scott Stapp’s recently-formed With Arms Wide Open Foundation, which aims "to promote healthy, loving relationships between children and their families."
Following the Orlando performance, the band plans to take the rest of the year off, but may play an occasional show during February, March, April and May of next year, according to its spokesperson.
Meanwhile, the group has its sights set on writing new material for the follow-up to “Human Clay” in early 2001, and hopes to release the album sometime during the second half of next year, the spokesperson said.
Creed’s tour is scheduled to continue on Friday night (11/17) in Texas. Sevendust and Finger Eleven are scheduled to open all of the remaining shows on the run, according to Creed’s official website.
The website also indicates that band will soon be offering a free, downloadable version of a live performance of the "Human Clay" track "Faceless Man."
“Human Clay” hit shelves in September of last year, and the group has been on the road in support of the disc almost non-stop since its release. The album has sold over 6 million copies to date, and is currently No. 10 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
