Pantera's camp rolls out rescheduled tour dates
Pantera has begun the process of rescheduling a U.S. tour that was postponed after frontman Phil Anselmo broke two ribs. The outing is now expected to take to the road on Feb. 1, and to run through April 2.
Anselmo broke his ribs after he slipped and fell, according to a statement released by the band’s management late last month. The tour was originally set to kick off in Biloxi, Miss., on Nov. 7.
The first set of rescheduled dates was posted to the band’s official website this week, and the remainder of the itinerary should be plotted by the end of the week.
Two of the shows have been moved to new venues, according to Pantera’s website: a show that originally was to take place at Target Center in Minneapolis has been moved to Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul, Minn., and a Philadelphia show has been moved from the First Union Spectrum to the First Union Center. Ticket-holders should contact their concert promoter or ticket-seller for more information.
Kittie and Morbid Angel were originally slated to support on Pantera’s tour, but Soulfly will take over the opening slot due to the scheduling shuffle.
Pantera's latest album, "Reinventing the Steel" (Elektra), was released in March.
