Weezer to launch 'Raditude' with late-year dates
Weezer will back their forthcoming studio album, "Raditude," with a run of December headlining dates along with a pair of shows on opposite coasts later this month.
Following the band's Oct. 24 and Oct. 31 shows in Los Angeles and New York City, respectively, the group will take a short break before kicking off a brief outing in support of the new album Dec. 1 in Chicago. The trek will cover six cities over 10 days, culminating in a Dec. 10 appearance in Philadelphia. Details are included below.
Due in stores Nov. 3, "Raditude" is the band's seventh studio album. The set boasts a slew of co-production credits, including Jacknife Lee (U2, R.E.M.) and Butch Walker (Saosin, Katy Perry), along with the band's own Rivers Cuomo.
The album's first single, "(If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To," hit radio waves in August, debuting at No. 21 on both the Billboard Rock Songs and Alternative Songs charts, eventually peaking at No. 2 on the latter.
The new set follows last year's self-titled effort, also known as "The Red Album." That set peaked at No. 4 on The Billboard 200, spawning a trio of singles, including "Pork and Beans," which topped Billboard's Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart.
