Nelly, Cash Money Millionaires, Lil' Kim link up for tour
Jingle Ballers Jam--a hip-hop outing featuring Nelly , the Cash Money Millionaires and Lil’ Kim--is scheduled to kick off next month in Florida, according to Nelly’s publicist at Universal Records and the label’s official website. The 30-date itinerary begins on Nov. 10 in Miami, and is scheduled to run until Dec. 22.
Following the Nov. 10 kick-off in Miami, the Jingle Ballers Jam tour is scheduled to touch down in Tampa before heading north for a pair of shows in New York state. Subsequent stops in Marlyand, Indiana, Ohio, Connecticut, North Carolina, Virginia and Washington, D.C., round out the month of November.
December’s itinerary begins on Dec. 1 in Uniondale, N.Y., and finds the hip-hop entourage making stops throughout the Northeast, including dates in Boston, Philadelphia, Albany and Pittsburgh. The tour then hits Chicago before a mid-month string of shows throughout the South and the Midwest.
On Dec. 19, the tour heads to the Pacific Northwest for a date in Tacoma, Wash., and then moves on to California for shows in San Jose and Sacramento. The current itinerary ends on Dec. 22 in Anaheim, Calif.
Nelly’s debut album “Country Grammar” is currently No. 2 on this week’s album chart, and has been in the Top 10 since its release in June. The Top 10 run has included a five-week stint at No. 1. The St. Louis rapper’s disc was certified triple-platinum last month by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for shipping over 3 million copies.
The Cash Money Millionaires lineup for the Jingle Ballers Jam tour will consist of Juvenile , Lil' Wayne, Hot Boyz, B.G. and Big Tymers . (During the last Cash Money outing, several concerts were canceled in the wake of a incident during the tour’s Boston stop in which five people were stabbed in a backstage melee.) Cash Money Millionaires' latest release is the soundtrack to the crew’s straight-to-video movie “Baller Blockin’," according to Cash Money Records’ official website.
Lil’ Kim’s latest disc--“The Notorious K.I.M.”--hit shelves in June, and was certified platinum in August by the RIAA. The disc peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart in July, and is currently at No. 32.
Hip-hop artists Joe and Profyle will also be featured on the Jingle Ballers Jam tour.
