Kanye West, Lady Gaga set 30-plus city tour

After grabbing the lion's share of headlines from Sunday night's (9/13) MTV Video Music Awards with yet another award-show outburst, Kanye West has unveiled the dates for his long-anticipated tour with fellow pop/fashion star Lady Gaga .

The outing, dubbed the Fame Kills tour, is set to launch Nov. 10 in Phoenix, and so far is scheduled to visit arenas in more than 30 North American cities through January. Details are below.

For awhile, there were doubts as to whether or not the long-anticipated tour would go forward. West--who first revealed plans for the upcoming tour during a June appearance on "The View"--appeared on Monday night's (9/14) debut episode of "The Jay Leno Show" to offer apologies for his VMA outburst, when he unexpectedly walked onstage during Taylor Swift's acceptance speech for Best Female Video, grabbed the microphone from her hands and complained that the award should have been given to Beyonce.

"So many celebrities, they never take the time off," West told Leno. "I've never taken the time off to really--you know, just music after music, and tour after tour. I'm just ashamed that my hurt caused someone else's hurt. My dream of what awards shows are supposed to be--'cause, and I don't try to justify it because I was just in the wrong. That's period.

"But I need to, after this, take some time off and just analyze how I'm going to make it through the rest of this life, how I'm going to improve."

Although West remained silent for several days following the appearance on Leno's show, and made a personal phone call to Swift after she told the hosts of "The View" that he had not yet attempted to get in contact with her, West returned to his website on Thursday (9/17) to compare himself to the protagonist of the 1998 Jim Carrey movie "The Truman Show," which told the story of a man who lived his life unaware of the fact that he starred in a television reality show. In West's typical all-caps writing style, the post was titled "ANOTHER DAY IN THE TRUMAN SHOW AKA MY LIFE!"

In addition to creating controversy, the 10-time Grammy winner continues to support his fourth studio album, last year's "808s & Heartbreak."

Lady Gaga's 2008 debut album, "The Fame," which hit stores in 2008, has spawned the hit singles "Just Dance" (which picked up a Grammy nomination in the Best Dance Recording category) and "Poker Face." She was named Best New Artist at Sunday's VMAs.
