Paisley snagged nominations for Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year ("American Saturday Night"), Single of the Year and Song of the Year ("Then") and Music Video of the Year for "Start a Band" which also features Keith Urban .

Urban shares with Paisley the Music Video of the Year nomination, and goes head to head with Paisley in the Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year ("Defying Gravity") categories.
