Texas plans British arena outing for February

LONDON--British rock group Texas , whose hits include "Say What You Want" and "I Don't Want a Lover," has lined up a 10-date U.K. tour for February 2001. Tickets go on sale on Friday (10/13).

The band’s latest release is the single "In Demand," which entered the Official U.K. Singles Chart at No. 6 on Sunday (10/8). Texas' next album, "Texas--The Greatest Hits," is due in Britain on Oct. 23.

Texas was formed in Glasgow, Scotland, by bassist Johnny McElhone in 1986, and is fronted by Sharleen Spiteri. The band’s first album was "Southside" in 1989. Its last studio album was "The Hush" in 1999.
