Bob Dylan maps fall West Coast dates

Bob Dylan has lined up the beginnings of a fall West Coast tour as he continues to back his most recent studio album, which surfaced earlier this year.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is currently out on the road for a summer tour of minor-league ballparks with Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp, an outing that continues Tuesday night (8/4) in Round Rock, TX. The fall tour gets underway Oct. 5 in Seattle, and currently includes dates in Portland, OR, and Berkeley, CA, as well as a three-night engagement (10/13-15) in Los Angeles. Details are included below.

During the trek, the veteran performer will continue to support his new album, "Together Through Life," which hit stores April 28 and is the 33rd official studio album in Dylan's long and storied recording career.

Dylan, who produced the album under the pseudonym "Jack Frost"--the same name that he used for his two previous releases, 2006's "Modern Times" and 2001's "Love and Theft"--wrote many of the album's songs with Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter.

"Hunter is an old buddy, we could probably write a hundred songs together if we thought it was important or the right reasons were there ... He's got a way with words and I do too," Dylan said in a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine. "We both write a different type of song than what passes today for songwriting."

"Together Through Life" sold 125,000 copies in its first week on shelves, according to Nielsen Soundscan, while debuting at No. 1 on The Billboard 200. It marked Dylan's fifth entry in the top slot, and second in a row; "Modern Times" also debuted at No. 1.
