Levon Helm concert special to air in August

Levon Helm , who last month served up his second solo album, "Electric Dirt," will give fans even more to feast on with a PBS concert special that premieres next month.

Dubbed "Levon Helm - Ramble at the Ryman," the hi-def feature captures Helm's Sept. 17, 2008 performance at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. Special guests who joined Helm and his band during the event include Buddy Miller, John Hiatt, Sheryl Crow and Sam Bush.

A press release describes "Ramble at the Ryman" as a "veritable tour through the American songbook." The performance features tunes from Helm's tenure with The Band, as well as selections from his 2008 Grammy-winning album, "Dirt Farmer."

A preview of "Ramble at the Ryman" is included below. Broadcast times and dates vary by market; local listings are posted at PBS's website.
