The Wallflowers post additional fall tour dates
On the eve of completing a brief string of U.S. club performances, the Wallflowers have revealed the initial dates of a North American headlining theatre tour, according to the group’s official website. The jaunt, which will feature Everlast as the opening act, is scheduled to begin in San Diego on Nov. 9.
On Thursday night (10/12), the Wallflowers are scheduled to play Chicago’s Metro/Smart Bar, the last of a handful of club dates that began earlier this month. The group also opened four shows for the Who at New York City’s Madison Square Garden last week.
The previously announced Nov. 9 show in San Diego will follow, and is the first in a series dates that will feature R&B artist Everlast in the opening slot, according to the Wallflowers’ website.
Following the San Diego stop, eight theatre dates are lined up throughout the West, beginning with a Nov. 10 stop in Las Vegas. Three subsequent California stops are also planned, as are performances in Seattle, Salt Lake City and Vancouver. The recently announced batch of dates ends with a Nov. 22 stop in Denver.
The Wallflowers are touring in support of their latest album “Breach,” which hit stores on Tuesday (10/10). The album follows the group’s multi-platinum breakthrough disc “Bringing Down the Horse,” which was released in 1996. “Sleepwalker,” the first single from “Breach,” is currently No. 2 on trade publication Radio & Records’ adult alternative chart, which measures national radio airplay.
Everlast, meanwhile, is touring in support of “Eat at Whitey’s,” set for release on Oct. 17. The album is the follow-up to his 1998 double-platinum disc “Whitey Ford,” which featured the hit single “What It’s Like.” The former House of Pain frontman is on tour with Santana through the end of the month.
