Bob Dylan plans autumn tour of college circuit
With an extensive European tour now in the books, road warrior Bob Dylan is piecing together a fall tour of college venues in the United States. The tour is scheduled to open in late October, and tickets to some shows are already on the market.
Though Dylan’s fan club often sells priority tickets to his concerts, no priority tickets will be sold for the upcoming dates, according to Dylan’s official website.
After spending much of 1999 on the road, Dylan returned to the stage in March 2000 for a tour of small North American markets. A European tour followed in April, and in June and July he co-headlined a tour with Phil Lesh and Friends. After that, Dylan traveled to Europe for a second series of dates.
Though his touring schedule has been extremely busy, Dylan’s recorded output has slowed to a trickle in recent years. His last studio album “Time Out of Mind” was released in 1997.
Among Dylan's recently released work is the song "Things Have Changed" which appeared, along with three of his previously released songs, on the soundtrack of the film "Wonder Boys." He also contributed a previously unreleased live recording of the Grateful Dead’s “Friend of the Devil” to “Stolen Roses,” a compilation of Grateful Dead songs performed by various artists.
