Singer/songwriter Sondre Lerche [ tickets ] has lined up a fall North American headlining tour to support his latest studio effort, "Hearbeat Radio," which drops in September.

The Norwegian performer, who is currently based in Brooklyn, NY, will kick off the outing Sept. 5 in Philadelphia, the first of 19 cities he'll pass through on the trek, which winds to a close Sept. 30 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Details are included below.

The singer's forthcoming fifth studio album, "Heartbeat Radio," is due in stores Sept. 8. The 12-track set features production by Lerche himself, and string and horn arrangements by Sean O'Hagan of The High Llamas.

"The records I make seem to be a reaction to the record I did before," Lerche said of the new album in his online bio. "My last few records were recorded with my backing band, Faces Down, almost live off the floor. And those were a reaction to my first records, which were more studio affairs. On this album, I wanted both: I wanted the physical force and excitement from the live setting and the patience and the endless possibilities of the studio setting."

Lerche's previous album, the soundtrack to the 2007 Steve Carell movie "Dan in Real Life," featured 11 new compositions, a duet with singer/songwriter Regina Spektor and a cover of Pete Townshend's "Let My Love Open the Door," along with several tracks from the singer's previous albums. All original music on the set was self-produced by Lerche, as was A Fine Frenzy's cover of the lounge classic "Fever," which also appears on the album.

Also in 2007, Lerche offered "Phantom Punch," his fourth studio album, which featured production from studio ace Tony Hoffer (Beck, Belle & Sebastian).
