Living Colour steps through 'Doorway' on fall trek
Alt-rockers Living Colour will launch a headlining tour in September behind the band's first new studio album in six years, "The Chair in the Doorway."
The group kicks off the outing Sept. 1 in Alexandria, VA, and will hit 11 cities on the road trip, finishing up Oct. 2 in Ferndale, MI. Dates are below.
"The Chair in the Doorway," the band's fifth studio album, is due in stores Sept. 15. The album will be the group's first release for Megaforce Records, and is Living Colour's first studio set since 2003's "Collideoscope."
In 1988, Living Colour burst onto the scene with the hit single "Cult of Personality," from its double-platinum debut, "Vivid." The song peaked at No. 9 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart in May of 1989, and went on to win a Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance.
The group originally disbanded in 1995 following its third album, "Stain," reuniting five years later. Frontman Corey Glover temporarily left the band from 2006-2008 to take on the role of Judas in the national touring company of the musical "Jesus Christ Superstar," and was replaced by Doug Pinnick of King's X for the tour's duration. Glover rejoined Living Colour on a full-time basis late last year.
