Jill Sobule tours North America behind "Pink Pearl"
Jill Sobule has embarked on a fall North American tour in support of her latest release “Pink Pearl,” according to Beyond Records. In addition to a number of headlining solo dates, Sobule is also serving as the opening act for Don Henley on several of the former Eagle’s tour stops.
Sobule began her opening stint for Henley on Sept. 30 in Florida, and has played five shows with Henley to date. Her opening run on that tour continues on Tuesday night (10/10) in Las Vegas, followed by stops with Henley in El Paso, Texas, and Phoenix, Ariz.
Henley tapped Sobule for his tour after Paul Weller--with whom Sobule was originally scheduled to spend the fall touring--canceled his North American tour.
Following her dates with Henley, Sobule’s solo run behind “Pink Pearl” begins on Oct. 21 in Sacramento, Calif., the first of eight California dates on her current itinerary. Three of the California stops are consecutive Sunday nights at San Francisco’s Café Du Nord on Oct. 22, Oct. 29 and Nov. 5. The singer-songwriter will also visit Portland, Ore., Tempe, Ariz., Seattle, Charleston, W.V., and Vancouver, British Columbia.
More dates are expected, according to Beyond Records.
Sobule is best known for her 1995 hit “I Kissed a Girl,” from her self-titled album of the same year. “Pink Pearl,” her latest album, was released in April, and is the follow-up to her 1997 disc “Happy Town.”
