Lenny Kravitz, Coolio Get A Handle On 1999 Racing Season

Lenny Kravitz took part in the kickoff event for the CART (Championship Auto Racing Teams) 1999 season Sunday (3/21) in Miami. While Kravitz didn't get behind the wheel for any competition, Coolio will do so at the next event in the race series, the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. Coolio will compete against Donny Osmond, Melissa Joan Hart and others in the Grand Prix's annual Celebrity Race on April 17th.

Kravitz, pictured with winning driver Greg Moore, was a guest of Moore's team, the Player's/Forsythe Racing team. The Miami Grand Prix is the first in a worldwide schedule of events comprising the FedEx Championship Series, which ends November 13th with the Hawaii Super Prix in Honolulu.

Kravitz will hit the road in the musical touring sense with the Black Crowes and Everlast with a show April 23rd at Southern California's Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre. The tour, running through May, will precede a stretch of European dates in support of 5.
