Billy Bragg lines up U.K. year-end tour
LONDON-- Billy Bragg will tour the U.K. and Ireland in December after wrapping up North American and other European shows. The socially conscious folk star will kick off the 11-date venture at Bristol University on Dec. 1 and finish up at Nottingham’s Rock City on Dec. 17.
Bragg has also confirmed that the tour will feature older material as well as songs from the two volumes of "Mermaid Avenue," which Bragg recorded with the band Wilco . The first volume of "Mermaid Avenue" was released in 1998 and the second volume came out this year. "Mermaid Avenue Vol. II" peaked at No. 88 in the Billboard 200 chart in June.
