Stereophonics frontman goes it alone

LONDON--Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones will embark on his first solo acoustic tour of the U.K. in November, and will preview songs from the group’s upcoming album “JEEP (Just Enough Education to Perform)." Accompanied by Davy Crockett of the Crocketts, Jones will play eight mid-sized venue dates beginning in Dublin, Ireland, on Nov. 13.

The Welsh trio, which also includes bassist Richard Jones and drummer Stuart Cable have just finished recording “JEEP”, which is expected for release in the spring of 2001. They are currently in New York mixing the album with Andy Wallace (Nirvana, Limp Bizkit, Sheryl Crow).

Stereophonics’ last live performances were at the Glasgow Green Festival and Reading & Leeds Festivals in August. Tickets for Jones’ tour are £12.50 ($19) and available only through the Stereophonics' official website.
