Surviving Beatles unveil 'Rock Band' details at E3
Sir Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and the wives of late Beatles John Lennon and George Harrison (Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison) helped pave the way for the upcoming release of " The Beatles : Rock Band" video game with an appearance today (6/1) at the E3 Expo in New York City.
Set for release Sept. 9, the game disc will feature 45 songs, 10 of which were revealed today, according to a press release: "I Saw Her Standing There," "I Want to Hold Your Hand," "I Feel Fine," "Taxman," "Day Tripper," "Back in the USSR," "I Am the Walrus," "Octopus's Garden," "Here Comes the Sun" and "Get Back."
In addition to the 45 songs contained on the game disc, the entire "Abbey Road" album will be available for future download purchase, as will additional music from The Beatles' catalog, a press release said.
As an added bonus, "All You Need Is Love" will be released in download form exclusively for Microsoft's Xbox 360 game system. Apple Corps Ltd (The Beatles' publishing company), MTV Games and Microsoft will donate all proceeds from the song to Doctors Without Borders, according to a joint press release from all involved parties.
