LeAnn Rimes returns to the stage with several fall concerts

LeAnn Rimes , who earlier this year canceled a summer tour due to vocal problems, has a handful of appearances scheduled in the coming weeks, including a performance at Wednesday night’s (10/4) Country Music Awards and several concert dates in California and Arizona, according to her publicist.

Rimes returned to the stage last week with performances in Reno, Nev., on Friday (9/29) and Saturday (9/30) nights.

Following her appearance at the CMAs on Wednesday, Rimes is set to perform in Las Vegas at Tiger Jam III, a charity event sponsored by golfer Tiger Woods. Christina Aguilera and Seal are also scheduled to perform at the event, proceeds from which will benefit the Tiger Woods Foundation and a number of different children’s charities, according to an event press release.

Rimes’ light October schedule is rounded out with an Oct. 14 show in Alpine, Calif., which will be followed by a Nov. 11 date in Yuma, Ariz., and a Nov. 12 stop in Cave Creek, Ariz. Two consecutive nights in Cerritos, Calif., on Nov. 17 and Nov. 18 wrap up Rimes’ fall touring plans.

Following the completion of her brief fall tour, Rimes plans to head back into the studio to finish work on a new album that will be released early next year, according to her publicist.

In June, Rimes was forced to cancel a 30-date tour that was scheduled to begin in July after being sidelined by her doctor due to strained vocal chords. Most of the dates on that tour could not be rescheduled because they were set to take place at summer fairs and festivals, Rimes’ publicist said.

Though Rimes’ most recent album was released one year ago, the singer contributed four tracks to the soundtrack for the film “Coyote Ugly,” which was released in August. Two of those tracks--"Can't Fight the Moonlight/But I Do Love You" and "I Need You"--currently reside in the No. 1 and No. 3 spots, respectively, on Billboard’s Country Singles Sales chart.
