Christina Aguilera to make big screen debut

Christina Aguilera has been tapped to star in "Burlesque," an upcoming contemporary musical about "an ambitious small-town girl with a big voice who finds love, family and success in a Los Angeles neo-burlesque club," according to a Variety report.

Aguilera has never been seen on the big screen, however she did make an animated appearance in the 2004 film "Shark Tale."

"Burlesque," which reportedly was written with Aguilera in mind, will begin shooting later this year.
