Madonna [ tickets ] becomes the queen of this week’s album chart with her latest disc “Music,” which debuts at No. 1 in its first week out, according to record label sources. The strong opening knocks LL Cool J [ tickets ]’s “G.O.A.T.” from the top spot, leaving him several steps lower in a Top 10 that was further shaken by a high-charting debut from George Strait [ tickets ].

Sales of “Music,” the follow-up to Madonna’s 1998 multi-platinum “Ray of Light,” were spurred by its title track, which is currently No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance Music singles chart, and No. 3 on industry trade Radio & Records pop chart, which measures radio airplay.

Behind Madonna is Nelly [ tickets ]’s “Country Grammar,” which holds on to its No. 2 spot for the second week in a row. Eminem’s “The Marshall Mathers LP” also stays put, remaining at No. 3 for a second consecutive week.

Creed’s “Human Clay” took a slight leap this week, up to No. 4 from No. 6 last week. The band has been touring extensively since the album was released roughly one year ago, and recently extended its fall tour into mid-October. The disc has sold over six million copies to date, according to the Recording Industry Association of America.

LL Cool J’s “G.O.A.T.”--which last week debuted in the No. 1 spot on the album chart--slips to No. 5 this week. Behind the rap veteran’s latest release is Britney Spears' “Oops! … I Did It Again,” up one spot to No. 6.

“Oops!” is followed by George Strait’s latest, self-titled disc, which debuts at No. 7 with sales of just over 100,000 copies, according to MCA Nashville. The album claims the top spot on the country album chart this week, the label said.

Behind Strait’s strong first-week debut, and staying put at No. 8, is “No Strings Attached” from ‘NSync, whose upcoming fall tour has mostly sold out less than two weeks after tickets first went on sale.

3 Doors Down’s “Better Life” also remains unmoved at No. 9, while the No. 10 spot this week is snagged by the Baha Men’s “Who Let the Dogs Out,” up from No. 14 last week, according to the group's label. The title-track from the Caribbean dance-music group’s latest album is currently No. 35 on Radio & Records' rhythmic airplay chart.
