Taylor Swift shows 'Fearless' on big arena tour

With her debut headlining tour already underway, rising country star Taylor Swift has filled a few gaps in her late-summer and early fall concert schedule.

The singer launched her trek last week in Evansville, IN, and will continue the outing Thursday night (4/30) in Charleston, SC. While there are no new additions to the performers calendar to report, Swift has verified venues for several shows and shuffled dates on a few others. Details of the trek, which is scheduled to run through mid-October, are included below.

"Headlining my own tour is a dream come true!" Swift said in a press statement issued before the tour's launch. "This way, I can play more music every night than I ever have before. Having written my own songs, they are all stories in my head, and my goal for this tour is to bring those stories to life."

Swift continues to ride high with her sophomore album, "Fearless," which spent 11 weeks at the top of the US album chart, the tenth longest-running No. 1 album in the history of the Billboard 200 chart, and the most weeks at the top ever for a female country artist.

The release has sold more than 2.4 million copies to date and spawned a slew of radio singles, including "Love Story," "White Horse" and "Fearless," all of which are currently holding spots on Billboard's Pop 100 chart. In all, the album charted seven songs in its debut week alone, tying Swift with Hannah Montana for the most songs by a female artist to make the charts in a single week.

As she did with her 2006 triple-platinum-selling debut, Swift wrote or co-wrote every song on the new album, including seven tracks by herself. She is the first female artist in country music history to take writing credit on every song of a platinum-selling debut.

Swift took home Album of the Year honors for "Fearless" earlier this month at the 44th Academy of Country Music Awards show in Las Vegas. She was also awarded the Crystal Milestone Award, given for "outstanding achievement in country music."
