Rivers Cuomo jams with fans on new DVD, EP

Rivers Cuomo will release a DVD and EP April 28 that chronicles an in-store jam session held in November at Fingerprints, a record store in Long Beach, CA, according to a press release.

The event, a celebration for the release of "Alone II – The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo," featured the Weezer frontman joined by 150 "super fans" from across the country who were invited via his website to dress sharp and join in a makeshift band.

Cuomo's 150 lucky "friends," who had never met or practiced together, helped pick a set list that ended up being a mix of Weezer classics and ultra-obscure fan favorites. The CD features six songs from the in-store jam and an in-depth interview conducted by NPR's Terry Gross for her show "Fresh Air."

Additional bonus footage on the DVD includes the video for "My Brain Is Working Overtime," an interview with actor Jason Schwartzman and a video clip that features Cuomo describing his inspiration for the unique record-store appearance and fan jam.
