Green Day 's entire catalog will be released this year on 12-inch vinyl, making available records that have been hard to find or out of print for years, according to a press release.
The band's first two albums, "39/Smooth" and "Kerplunk," will be released March 24 on 140-gram vinyl, as will two 7-inch singles: "Slappy" and "1000 Hours."
On April 18, in honor of the second annual Record Store Day, the band will release its breakout album, "Dookie," which features five hit singles, including "Longview," "When I Come Around" and "Basket Case." "Dookie," Green Day's only Diamond-selling album and major-label debut, will be available on 180-gram, audiophile-grade vinyl.
The band's remaining albums will be release chronologically throughout the year. "Insomniac" (1995) will be available on 140-gram vinyl beginning May 12; "Nimrod" (1997) will be released on two 140-gram vinyl discs with a gatefold sleeve on June 16; "Warning" (2000) will be released on July 14; "International Superhits!" (2001) will be released on Aug. 11; "Shenanigans," a 2002 compilation of B-sides, rarities and covers, will hit stores Sept. 15; the band's 2004 Grammy-award winning "American Idiot" will be available on two 180-gram, audiophile-grade vinyl albums beginning Oct. 13; and "Bullet in a Bible," a live CD/DVD originally released in 2005, will be available Nov. 10.
Green Day's label, Reprise Records, also will release a boxed set of singles culled from the band's entire career, including songs from the band's alter ego projects Foxboro Hot Tubs and The Network. The boxed set, which will be available July 21, also will include B-sides, international tracks and live cuts.
This year, the band also will release its eight studio album, "21st Century Breakdown." The Butch Vig-produced set, scheduled for release in May, also will be available on 180-gram, audiophile-grade vinyl.
