Alkaline Trio plots dates with Saves the Day
Alt-rockers Alkaline Trio continue to back their latest studio set, last July's "Agony & Irony," during a spring headlining outing the band will share with Saves the Day .
The trek kicks off April 18 in Minneapolis, and runs through an April 29 show in Pittsburgh, PA. Alkaline Trio will also make an appearance on its own April 30 in Philadelphia. Dates are below.
"Agony & Irony," which debuted at No. 13 on The Billboard 200 last summer, is Alkaline Trio's first album of all-new material since 2005's "Crimson," which peaked at No. 25 on that same chart.
"There's a theme of duality on the record, it's sort of a spin on 'ebony and ivory,' which of course represents black and white," guitarist/vocalist Matt Skiba told Bombshellzine.com last year. "The songs on the new album sort of represent a struggle between good and evil, light and dark, and despair and hope. We felt Agony and Irony was appropriate, I mean we fancy ourselves as being pretty clever, and we felt a play on words was also fitting for the new record."
A deluxe edition of the album adds six bonus songs, including acoustic versions of four of the set's studio tracks: "Live Young, Die Fast," "Into the Night," "Over and Out" and "Lost and Rendered."
