March's New Music DVD Releases: Phish, Stevie Wonder, Leonard Cohen

Phish
"The Clifford Ball"
(Rhino)

Phish's historic first festival gig, The Clifford Ball, has made its way to DVD--all 540 minutes of it. Available now, the two-day event that took place August 16-17, 1996, takes up seven discs, full of live music, soundcheck coverage and behind-the-scenes footage. Shot from multiple camera angles, the video covers everything from detailed guitar picking to the fireworks and aerial ballets the show entailed. The seventh disc contains a 20-minute documentary of the festival's planning, as well as the surprise 3 a.m. set the jam band played on the back of a flatbed truck while driving through the campsite.

Stevie Wonder
"Live At Last"
(Motown)

Stevie Wonder has finally unveiled his first live DVD, filmed last fall at London's O2 Arena as part of his "A Wonder Summer Nights Tour." The 27-song set includes some of his most well known work ("Isn't She Lovely," "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing,") as well as a medley of Beatles and Rolling Stones hits. Available now, the live concert holds more than two hours of entertainment from the award-winning icon's first world tour in more than a decade.

Leonard Cohen
"Live In London"
(Sony)

Last year, Leonard Cohen embarked on his first tour in 15 years, receiving more than 80 five-star reviews for the mostly sold-out trek. At just under three hours, this video, which hits shelves March 31, captures the energy and excitement of the run with a 26-song set filmed along the way. Songs performed include "Hallelujah," "I'm Your Man," "Everybody Knows" and "Suzanne." Fans of the influential songwriter can also memorialize the trek with a 2-CD set of the same London show.

The Beatles
"Yesterday: Collectors Edition"
(Classic Rock Legends)
Taking an in-depth look at British icons The Beatles, this extensive collection encompasses the time between their start in Hamburg and 1970's "Let It Be." The five-disc boxed set, which is available now, uses performance footage of the group and their solo careers alongside interviews with a handful of insiders to review the 10-year run of the famed quartet. A book of interviews from those closest to the band members is also included in the package.
